Key aspects will be highlighted and discussed in relation to Supply Chains, Logistics, and Transport, including how they have evolved over time.We aim to end the walk at the London Canal Museum, Kings Cross.The pace and distance will be comfortable for all and there is a planned lunch break and we will look for other break opportunities. Lord Hendy was previouslyCommissioner of Transport for London for nearly 10 years. He started his transport career in 1975as a London Transport graduate trainee. Prior to his introduction in the House of Lords in December 2022, he was previously knighted in the 2013 New Year's Honours List, having been made CBE in 2006.Lord Hendy has a strong interest in transport heritage and is a Trustee of the Science Museum Groupand of the London Transport Museum, and Chair of the Heritage Railway Association. When:17 Jun 2024, 19:30 - 20:30 Where: Zoom WebinarSpeaker: Cllr Geoff Hill, Deputy Leader Local Independents and Cabinet member for Highways and Transport, Customer Service Centre and Employment The Royal Borough of Windsor & MaidenheadThe Thames Valley great is delighted to welcome Councillor Geoff Hill who is Deputy Leader Local Independents and Cabinet member for Highways and Transport, Customer Service Centre and Employment.Councillor Hill will provide an update & a presentation on the new Maidenhead cycle routes now the public consultants are fully completed with settled designs.Cyclists in Maidenhead now have a dedicated new 1.3km cycle route, making healthy active travel across the town safer and more convenient, thanks to the completion of the £2.8m Missing Links route. The Royal Borough of Windsor & Maidenhead has constructed the new route in phases, with the final part focused on upgraded paths, a new bridge, landscaping, and signs at Town Moor. The whole route connects current and future residential areas in the north with the town centre and railway station to the south. Pedestrians can also use it.The overall scheme, mostly funded by government’s Local Growth Fund through the Berkshire Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP), includes improvements at a number of key locations to help people transition to cycling or walking for shorter journeys, supporting the council’s work to tackle climate change.
