How to harness the full potential of a diverse workforceBook Now
Start Date:30/04/2024 17:30
End Date:30/04/2024 20:00
Event Code:RSF0082
Description:

When: Tuesday 30 April 2024, 17.30 - 20.00
Where: Rail Delivery Group Offices, London
Speaker: Adeline Ginn MBE, Legal Director for Egis UK & Ireland

The future of rail to the background of uncertainty: a focus on Equality, Diversity and Inclusion - how to harness the full potential of a diverse workforce.

For the last few years, EDI has been firmly on the boardroom agenda of many organisations, in the transport and logistics sector but also other industries. However, the pandemic has led to fundamental changes in the way people work and live and with wellbeing and mental health now taking centre stage, many organisations seem uncertain on how to tackle, measure and harness EDI so it can deliver real change and progress.
What is needed is a well thought out, measurable, long-term EDI strategy.

This session will focus on how to develop and implement such a strategy, starting with a thorough diagnostic look at EDI, followed by the drafting of a robust EDI Action Plan, structured to ensure EDI is a strategic priority, with the leadership team as core drivers of the business EDI effort.

Join the Railway Study forum on the 30th of April at Rail Delivery Group’s offices at Puddle Dock, where the forum welcome Adeline Ginn MBE, Legal Director for Egis UK & Ireland who will be discussing how to harness the full potential of a diverse workforce. Adeline Ginn is Legal Director UK & Ireland at Egis, a global consulting, construction and engineering company leading and supporting projects in the transport, mobility, nuclear, building, highways, water, environment and energy industries in over 120 countries worldwide.

Early 2012, alongside her day job as senior lawyer in the rail industry, Adeline founded Women in Rail, a charity whose aim was to provide a support network for women of diverse backgrounds in the UK railway sector and promote the attraction, retention and development of female talent throughout all grades and roles of the sector’s workforce. Adeline stepped down from Women in Rail in October 2021. Under her leadership, the charity experienced tremendous success and growth and became an integral part of the railway industry's consciousness, securing the support of senior leaders and key stakeholders UK, including the government, running flagship events, a cross-industry mentoring programme and in November 2020, launching the first ever railway industry EDI Charter, in collaboration with RIA.
