CILT has revealed its list of Top 30 UK Logistics Service Providers for 2020.

The CILT Top 30 has been put together to guide your selection of logistics partners within the UK. The list recognises those organisations who best exemplify excellence and has been formed by assessing a range of key criteria, such as; financials, performance, professional accreditation, the gender pay gap and human resource factors that have been made available through the MINT UK database, annual reports and the European Commission.

The results were revealed in May’s issue of the Institute’s membership magazine, Focus.

Now in its third year, this list exemplifies excellence and this year recognises the incredible work of those organisations who continue to keep the UK moving during the current Covid-19 crisis.

For the second year running, parcel delivery company, DPD Group topped the list. Dwain McDonald, Chief Executive, DPD UK, said: “This recognition means a lot to us. I always say it is a tough sector, and anyone that has worked in it for any length of time knows how hard it is to be on top of your game, every single day, every single delivery. We passionately believe that this is a service-led sector and the expectations on carriers keep on growing, year on year, so, you have to up your game and work out how to innovate in your own space, to be the best you can possibly be at what you do.”

Elsewhere, CILT Corporate Members Wincanton, Kuehne + Nagel, DHL Supply Chain and XPO Supply Chain, were recognised within the Top 10 of this list.

There were three new entries to the list this year, including W.H. Bowker, Davies Turner and a return to the Top 30 for Yusen Logistics.

Helen Hardy FCILT, Director of Membership & Engagement, CILT(UK), said: “At CILT, we know that many organisations and operators exemplify excellence throughout the sector, but do not receive the recognition they deserve, and so this list serves to raise awareness of the great work that our operators are having on the UK’s economy.

“As your Institute continues to grow and develop to better our members’ needs, we believe that recognition is crucial to sharing the success of our sectors and our members effectively. It is our aim to continue to shine a light on those who put food on our tables, clothes on our backs and furniture in our homes – even in the hardest of times, like those we are experiencing currently.”

Richard Morson, Chief Executive Officer, Bibby Distribution, said: “Our team has made huge strides in performance and growth in every area of the business, and to be named in this Top 30 is a real honour and something we are very grateful for.”

Chris Walton, Managing Director, CEVA Logistics, said: “Being part of the Top 30 list is a confirmation to our customers that we are amongst the top companies in our industry.”

Tony Mannix, CEO, Clipper Logistics, said: “On a personal level, as a Chartered Fellow of the Institute, it is fantastic that Clipper has been recognised.”

David Pickering, Chief Operating Officer, Eddie Stobart, said: “From our drivers and warehouse operatives, to the back office support: we could not achieve what we do without them.”

Tom Williams, Managing Director, Maritime Transport, said: “We are continuously developing as an organisation with the ambition to be best in class so this recognition is something that I know the whole business will be delighted with.”

Neil Bowker, Chief Executive, W.H. Bowker, said: “We are immensely proud to be recognised by our peers, this is a testament to our commitment of providing innovative supply chain solutions.”

James Wroath, CEO, Wincanton, said: “We see our inclusion in this prestigious report as an endorsement for everything our people do to make us who we are.”
