AI deployed by GXO and Dataspraq accelerates

GXO’s partnership with Datasparq has helped UK retailer, Iceland, reduce carbon emissions and diesel consumption in addition to improvements in route efficiency.

Together with Dataspraq, GXO Logistics announced it has successfully deployed artificial intelligence (AI) solutions helping to boost efficiency leading to cost savings and reductions in environmental impact through route of transport optimisation.

GXO and Dataspraq developed route optimisation tools for customers such as Iceland. With is new AI application Iceland have improved route efficiency reducing distance driven to depot by over 900,000km per year, diesel consumption by over 25,000 litres and saving over 720 tonnes of carbon emissions.

Steve Pennington, Supply Chain Director, Iceland, said: “Iceland was the first food retailer internationally to join the Climate Pledge, a commitment to be net-zero carbon by 2040. Minimizing road miles and reducing fuel consumption across our fleet, without sacrificing outstanding customer service, is a top priority for us as we work towards this goal.
