XPO holds fourth annual UK Female Drivers Forum

16 April 2024/Categories: Industry News, Freight Forwarding, Logistics & Supply Chain

XPO logistics has hosted its fourth annual Female Drivers Forum today (April 16) at the company's national distribution centre in Crick, Northamptonshire.

The event invited all female drivers employed by XPO Logistics, providing a platform for them to raise concerns and network with one another.

This year's forum centred on the creation and implementation of a 'Driver Wellbeing Plan'.

The logistics company said that previous forums have led to notable changes within XPO, such as an increased number of female driver trainers to attract and retain more women in the profession.

Lynn Brown, vice president, human resources—UK and Ireland, XPO Logistics, shares said: “We are incredibly excited to convene our fourth Female Drivers Forum here at XPO.

“This initiative is a key part of our ongoing work to create a more diverse and inclusive workplace and builds on the success of previous forums.

“I am always amazed at the insights and great ideas that come out of this event.”

XPO has also introduced a newly designed female driver's uniform for improved comfort and revised family-friendly policies to support its workforce.

The full agenda included interactive sessions, open discussions on operational matters, and overall health and wellbeing conversations.

Attendance at the forum has grown annually, says XPO, reflecting the company's commitment to addressing the needs and concerns of its female drivers.

Cyd Bell, fuel tanker driver —UK and Ireland, XPO Logistics, said: “I always enjoy attending the forums as an opportunity to discuss common ground with other female drivers across our company.

“At the last Forum, we got to talk openly about various topics, including menopause and how we can be supported in the workplace.

“I am looking forward to discussing health and wellbeing issues this month.”
