Forwarders pledge to raise profile

26 March 2015/Categories: CILT, Press Releases, Industry News

CILT’s Freight Forwarding Forum has been launched with an invigorated mission to raise awareness of the freight forwarding sector, the value it adds to the nations supply chain and the professionalism of its members.

Actualis Marketing’s Paul Kelly CMILT, Forum Chair, commented: ‘The forwarding sector is part of an industry contributing over £20bn to the UK economy, but its unique capabilities have been ignored for too long.’

‘The Forum is committed to highlighting the innovative solutions that forwarders provide to protect their clients competitive advantage and showcase the lifetime value of freight forwarding as a profession.’

Paul added: ‘We recognise the critical role that BIFA play, as the industry’s trade association, and hope that they will work with us, to the benefit of our mutual members.’

In achieving their objectives the Forum’s Committee will seek to engage with all forwarding CILT members and reach out to young forwarding professionals.

As well as reaching out to individuals, the Forum’s Committee intends to invite corporate members – forwarders, shippers and logisticians – to highlight their contribution to the nations supply chain and how they integrate with forwarding operations.

By understanding each other better and recognising the contribution made, forwarders profile will inevitably raise as awareness grows.

The Freight Forwarding Forum will be officially launched at an upcoming public event.
