Two new Volvo B11R coaches have been delivered to Mearns Exclusive Travel in Glasgow.
Brian Murray, Company Director for Mearns Exclusive Travel, explained: 'These are the first Volvo coaches in our very diverse fleet which now stands at 20 coaches.
'We worked alongside their Retail Bus & Coach Sales Manager, Jim Newman, who put us in touch with one of their existing long term customers, Lochs & Glens Coach Travel, who recommended the Volvo to us and following this we had no hesitation in placing our order.
'The first B11R coach, which is in the livery of one of our partners, Eclipse Holidays, was delivered to us in January. We were so impressed with it in terms of its appearance and operational performance, we placed another order immediately and the second Volvo vehicle in our fleet arrived in early March.'
Jim Newman said: 'The Volvo B11R chassis is very well known for its quality and technical specification for operators as well as providing the high standard of service and comfort expected by today’s coach traveller. We are delighted that Mearns Exclusive Travel chose to add Volvo to their busy fleet.'
The B11R is at the centre of Volvo’s next generation of coaches and the key features and benefits include the renowned Volvo I-Shift transmission, automatic function check and trouble-free maintenance. It also benefits from a range of Volvo’s well known safety features, such as the powerful EBS controlled disc brakes and a multiplexed electronics system.
The B11Rs both have Jonckheere bodywork with 53 seat capacity and include all the required features of today’s seasoned coach traveller with TV screens, DVD, hot drinks serveries, fridges and on-board toilets for the comfort and convenience of passengers.
